COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the travel industry and travelers alike.  Our travel patterns have been disrupted and will have to be adjusted.  Traveling post COVID will look considerably different but with time, we will eventually return to normalcy.  The economic impact of this pandemic will play a role going forward with fewer dollars dedicated to long distance travel.  Traveling post COVID will probably include fewer long-distance flights, more domestic travel, and the return of the road trip.

But don’t despair, traveling post COVID will offer new opportunities!  Creative people will develop creative ideas and before you know it, we will be traveling again.  Places close to home will be rediscovered.  New activities will present themselves, and old favorites will be revisited.

Short road trips will become common place to destinations easily reached in a few hours driving.  Jacksonville,  Tampa,  Atlanta,  and Asheville  all great beer-centric destinations are easily accessible by car from just about anywhere in the South.   Portland and Seattle in the Northwest and Denver,  Albuquerque,  and Phoenix in the Southwest as well as  Detroit, Cleveland  and Columbus in the Midwest.  Keep your flights short and sweet then hit the road for great beer-centric destinations.

Consider traveling post COVID on short weekend getaways.  A beachside hotel in St Petersburg Beach,  Uber downtown for breweries and restaurants.  Perhaps a brewery tour as our lives and travel patterns slowly return to this “new normal” post COVID environment.  Traveling post COVID will not be drudgery.  Keep your options open,  stay safe and healthy.  Look for those local spots that are easily overlooked.

When the dangers of COVID-19 have eased, and the days of social distancing have passed let’s unite our focus and do something great for our country.  Let’s rediscover America and rebuild our local economies.  Eat at local restaurants, buy local products including meats, vegetables and seafood.  These are difficult times and without our support the local businesses could be lost forever. Traveling post COVID and our return to normalcy starts from home!

  • Support Your Local Economy
  • Frequent your Local Restaurants
  • Look for activities close to home
  • Rediscover America

We invite guest bloggers to share those ideas.  We invite businesses to share their specialty.  We encourage travelers to share their experiences as we move forward post COVID.  Together we can define traveling post COVID and support our local economies as we do it!
